This Week...

This week, as mentioned in Wednesday's post, was full of all sorts of learning and opportunities! I've shared before that one of my favorite parts of our day is our "morning meeting". This is our time in the morning when we join together for a chat, and honestly the time where I get to know the students the most. From talking about a big football game coming up to a struggle from the night before...we connect as a classroom family, celebrating our successes and supporting each other's struggles. Here's a snap shot of a week's worth of morning meetings!

For Mindset Monday, we discussed the dreams we have for the year and for our future. We used Patricia Polacco to start our discussion!

Tell Us Something Tuesday- We shared interesting things about ourselves.

Word Wiz Wednesday- This week we learned the word privilege. We discussed what privileges we have at home and at school.

Think About It Thursday- We talked about how sometimes things may seem impossible, and that somethings are just hard!

Feel Good Friday- With the three-day weekend ahead, we shared about our plans to recharge our batteries!

Also, this afternoon we had the opportunity to collaborate with kindergarten on a STEM project. Students from our class were partnered with students from Mrs. DeMuth's class in a STEM activity inspired by the story of The Three Little Pigs. Students worked together to build either a straw, stick, or brick structure. Their structures were put to the test we we cam through with the "wind", a pretty powerful fan!
