Another Week in the Books!

It's hard to believe we are nearing the end of September, and with only one more week until Fall Break time is flying by!  I have to say these kids have not forgotten about what we learned about idioms last week, and point them out to me EVERY SINGLE TIME I use them! It's hilarious! This is the signal they make when they hear an idiom. I never knew how often I said them until now. :) I have a feeling they are pointing them out when you say them at home too, so I had to share!

This week we began our first novel study, we are reading Jake Drake Know-It-All. We are loving it! We've worked on identifying the character traits of characters in the story. In our small group reading centers, we got a little messy and used shaving cream to review some Word Work!

Tuesday was Attendance Awareness Day, and our class was "Wild about LME!" Several of us wore our animal prints, but ALL of us were here! Because we had perfect attendance, we won 15 minutes of extra recess and got to see Mrs. Mays drive through the hallway on a scooter dressed up as a hot dog!

PTA hosted a wonderful Family Night on Thursday night for our One Book, One School. This week we finished A Penny's Worth of Character as a whole school and were able to go back in time for a fun experience! Thank you LME PTA! The photo booth was quite the hit!

Lastly, several of our students were featured in the hallway for their artwork with Ms. Boehm. They were pretty impressive!
